Welcome to IB Diploma Programme at Katedralskolan
Katedralskolan in Lund is the oldest school of Scandinavia. It was founded by the Danish king Canute (the Holy) in 1085. Today Katedralskolan is a modern upper secondary school. The school is located in the town centre, only five minutes walk from the train station and the bus station. The total number of students is around 1500. Within the IB Diploma Programme the number of students is around 220.
At Katedralskolan, like many other schools in Sweden, the Diploma Programme is preceded with a preparatory year, PDP. In PDP the students will study courses applied to the two coming IB Diploma years.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers four high-quality programmes of international education to a worldwide community of schools. The four programmes for students aged 3 to 19 help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills required to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. On 5 January 2017, the programmes were being offered worldwide, across 4,583 schools.
