Anyone can get a library card and use all public libraries in the council of Lund free of charge. Read more about our Lending Rules
The Public Library Network in Lund consists of
- The Lund Public Library
- 11 Branch Libraries
- The Library Bus - Which has 36 stops across the district
- The Local History Collection of Lund Public Library
- Skolbibliotekscentralen - (The School Library Service Centre) - A service for teachers and school libraries
- Books on Wheels - A home delivery service for those with difficulties in getting to a library
- Library services to institutions, day care centres for the elderly, retirement homes etc.
The Library Bus is a mobile library with 36 stops, one of several services for Lund residents who have difficulties getting to a public library.
The Lund Collection maintains of a wide range of reference materials relating to the history of Lund and its outlying communities.
The City Library and the branch libraries have access to the public libraries’ collection of books, e-books, CDs, newspapers and magazines, language courses, dvds and other media. Borrowing books and other materials is free. The only requirement is that you have a valid library card, which may be acquired free of charge at any public library in Lund.
All libraries have public access computers allowing free Internet access and word processing, as well as free access to a selection of fee-based databases.
The library catalogue is searchable online, and also allows you to reserve titles, check and renew loans.
