Katedralskolan in Lund is the oldest school of Scandinavia. It was founded by the Danish king Canute (the Holy) in 1085. Today Katedralskolan is a modern upper secondary school. The school is located in the town centre, only five minutes walk from the train station and the bus station. The total number of students is approximately 1200. Within the IB Diploma Programme the number of students is around 170.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers three high-quality programmes of international education to a worldwide community of schools. The three programmes for students aged 3 to 19 help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills required to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. There are around 3160 IB World Schools in about 140 countries that teach at least one of the three programmes offered by the IB.

The Diploma Programme for students aged 16 to 19 is a two-year curriculum leading to final examinations and a qualification that is welcomed by leading universities around the world.

At Katedralskolan, like many other schools in Sweden, the Diploma Programme is preceded with a preparatory year. The students will study courses applied to the two coming IB Diploma years.

International School of Lund (ISLK) at Katedralskolan has about 180 students.

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 3 to 12 focuses on the development of the whole child in the classroom and in the world outside.

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 11 to 16 provides a framework of academic challenge and life skills, achieved through embracing and transcending traditional school subjects.
